“The entire offense, obviously, we all could have been better,” – Jets HC Robert Salah lambasts offense after disappointing loss to Chargers

The Jets had one of those off days, going down to the Chargers in a lop-sided MNF encounter.

The loss sees the New York team slide to 4-4, while Chargers also sit at four apiece.

It was a game the Jets were never really out of, with quarterback Zach Wilson having a relatively off day throwing 33-49 and going for 263 yards.

Head coach Robert Saleh was a bit thrown by the lack of fluidity by Wilson and the nature of the contest saying, “It’s one of those bizarre games.”

“Every time we had momentum, just a self-inflicted wound. Was it his best game? Obviously not. Was it his worst game? No, I’m not going to say it was even close to his worst game.

“The entire offense, obviously, we all could have been better,” he remarked.

Running back Breece Hall and 16 and made 50 yards.

The Jets had plenty of opportunity, with Wilson handling the ball almost 50 times, but they could not find their rhythm.

“When you’re dropping passes, you’re committing penalties, you’re not giving yourself a chance to get into a rhythm, get into a flow, you’re turning it over, we’re fumbling,” he stated after the disappointing loss.

“And then he’s got to own up to some of the things he’s got to be better at.

“But offense is a collective thing and it felt like there were some opportunities out there to be a heck of a lot better. When you shoot yourself in the foot it’s not just one person, it’s all 11, coaches included” he said.

The Jets and Wilson will look fire in their week 10 game against the Raiders, and luckily for the NY team they still are in the playoff hunt.
