The Chargers completely dominated Jets quarterback Zack Wilson and the defense was instrumental in their 27-6 blowout win.
Coming into the MNF game, the Chargers had made just 23 sacks all season, good enough for 14th in the league but after sacking Wilson eight times they rise to second in the sack rankings.
It was a nightmare for Wilson and the Jets offense, but the Chargers will be buzzing after restricting the New York team to a mere six points.
Charge head coach Brandon Staley was buoyant and said that when he can get a healthy defense line up, they could be unbreakable.
“Just when we’re healthy that’s how they’ll rush,” Staley said, via the team’s website.
“They just haven’t been healthy together for very long, but when they’ve been healthy together, that’s how they’ve played,” he added.
The numbers back that assertion with Joey Bosa picking up 2.5 sacks, Khalil Mack 2, and the same for Tuli Tuipulotu.
The Chargers are now 4-4 and sit second in the AFC West, trailing runaway leaders the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chargers will look to carry the winning momentum to week 10 when they face the Detroit Lions.
