College Football sign stealing drama spreads to Purdue, Ohio – as death threats made amind untrue reporting

Sign stealing, death threats, allegations, denials, it all seems to be kicking off with the latest Michigan Wolverines saga taking more right turns than a traffic licensing department.

The latest big news coming out of the Connor Stalions sign-stealing soap opera was started when The Wolverine, Michigan writer Chris Balas suggested that Ohio State head coach Ryan Day’s family had associations with the private investigators looking into the NCAA’s investigation into Michigan’s alleged sign-stealing scandal.

The report about the Buckeyes coach quickly went viral and Balas gained a few new followers with Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, weighing in on the matter. He reported that Day and members of his family were the victims of threats based on an untrue report.

Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti contacted NCAA officials on Monday in an effort to seek answers over the claim, according to representatives from both the Big Ten and the NCAA.

“The NCAA confirmed that Day nor his family members had any involvement,” Dellenger wrote.

Despite this statement Balas has yet to retract the story. He even boasted on the message boards of On3 stating his reports were correct.
