Martavis Bryant has been recently reinstated in the NFL by Commissioner Roger Goodell after serving an indefinite suspension from the league. He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2014 to 2017.
The wide receiver then went on to join the Oakland Raiders in 2018, then went to Toronto Argonauts, Massachusetts Pirates, Edmonton Elks, FCF Beasts, and Vegas Vipers. He tried his hand in the Canadian Football League as well as the indoor professional football league.
The talented wide receiver has not played in the NFL for half a decade and he is now with the Dallas Cowboys.
However, Bryant is optimistic and says that he can still play like he used to as a newcomer. The wide receiver in his prime was one of the best talents in the league.
According to Pro Football Talk via ESPN, he said, "The sky’s the limit for me, man,"
"I know I’m 31, but still fast, still big, still want to play football. I haven’t lost anything. [It’s] more of a prove-it-point to me. I’ve got a lot of doubters out there. It’s more of me proving to myself that I still got it."
Bryant"s bright NFL career was ruined because he violated the league"s substance usage policy several times. He has also shed light on the toll it took on his life.
The wide receiver further shares, "To places that you can’t even imagine,"
"Some really dark places and times. I really would not like to talk about it, but I’ve worked hard to get through those moments."
Bryant also further claimed that his Clemson teammate, who is now with the Tennessee Titans, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, encouraged his spirit which was always with football. He inspired him to work out, hence helping him in his journey of recovery.
