Yankees supremo Hal Steinbrenner promises wholesale changes at the Yankees in the off-seasopn, but can he deliver?

The Chairman of the New York Yankees Hal Steinbrenner announced there will be significant changes at the organization after labelling the season “awful".

The Yankee managed to salvage the season with a late tally to finish 82-80 but Steinbrenner has still reached out to Tigers hitting coach James Rowson as well as hiring a consulting team.

Just how significant these overtures will be is open for conjecture, but the managing general partner for the Yankees Global Enterprises has further promised a big shake up in the off season.

"It was awful. We accomplished nothing," Steinbrenner said on Tuesday.

"We didn’t win a division, didn’t make it to the playoffs. We didn’t win a series in the playoffs much less a championship. The fans didn’t get what they deserve, but we are all very passionate about this.

“We are working our [tails] off. We are going to do everything we can to right the ship for 2024. But, bad year [in ‘23]."

This was the first time the Yankees did not make the playoffs since 2016.

"We did not get where we needed to be with run production. It was probably our biggest problem," Steinbrenner said.

Big talk, but actions always speak louder than words, so we will wait and see before we make judgment.
