Bears Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy recently shared his thoughts on quarterback Bryce Young, who the team considered during the pre-draft process before eventually trading away their pick.

Despite not selecting Young, the Bears will now face him for the first time on Thursday night.

Getsy expressed his admiration for Young"s abilities, particularly his accuracy and quick release.

"Yeah, we were very impressed with him," Getsy said, via Josh Schrock of NBCSportsChicago.com. "We were at his pro day, too, and very impressive. Accuracy was easy. That’s the thing that stood out for the kid is no matter [how far] it was down the field, under 20 yards or under 10 yards, the ability to get the ball out quick. He showed a lot of the cool things you’re looking for in a guy to be a natural passer."

However, Young"s rookie season has not gone as smoothly as anticipated. He has completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,375 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven games.

His passer rating currently stands at 77.1, and he threw three interceptions, including two pick-sixes, in the recent game against the Indianapolis Colts.

It remains uncertain whether Justin Fields or Tyson Bagent will start the upcoming game.

Regardless, the Bears have an opportunity to improve their draft position with a victory, as they hold the Carolina Panthers" 2024 first-round pick.

If they end up with the number one pick again, they may consider selecting a quarterback this time around.
