Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll will be the first to tell you he was not a fan of the replay review component that has been implemented into the NFL in recent years. Now, he’s changed his tune to the point where he has embraced replay review and thinks it should continue to be used to ensure officials get things right during games.

Carroll was the first to tell you he wasn’t a fan of the replay review, owning up to it during a recent press conference. “I would’ve told you for years and years, I would rather put it on the officials to call the game and let’s keep the game going.” However, Carroll is a changed man who has come to appreciate what the replay review has to offer.

“As long as we’re subject to the replay mode, I think they should get things right,” Carroll stated. It’s shocking to hear Carroll speak that way regarding replay review after years of being vocally and adamantly against it.

With all the technology at our disposal in today’s day and age, it is in the best interest of all parties involved to use replay review. Even if it slows down the pace of the game, it is better to make sure the officials make the right calls.

Carroll and the Seahawks will hope that the use of replay review to improve officiating works in his favor in Week 10 when the Seahawks host the Washington Commanders.
