Breaking: Lakers become the first team in NBA history with fewer threes and worse percentage shooting from three than their adversaries

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly not having the best of times in their 2023-24 NBA season as they have recently faced their fifth defeat.

The Lakers lost to Houston Rockets and the concluding score was 128-94. Now the LeBron James and Anthony Davis led Lakers have fallen 3-5 in the season.

Jalen Green posted 28 points and seven rebounds, and LeBron recorded 18 points and six rebounds. Anthony Davis was injured, and D’Angelo Russell was able to put up 22 points, four assists and three blocks.

Austin Reeves did not shine in this night and managed only seven points. According to abc news, James shared, “I don’t have an assessment,”

“I mean, we can’t build cohesion if we don’t have our unit,”

“It’s that simple. It’s just, we’re very depleted on the injury side.”

As per ESPN Stats and Info, “In each of the Lakers’ games this season, they’ve:

– Made fewer threes than their opponent

– Shot a worse percentage from three than their opponent

They’re the first team in NBA history to do that in each of the first 8 games of a season.”

Darvin Ham, the head coach of the Lakers also shared, “We’re juggling different circumstances — guys being in and out of the lineup,”

“But at the end of the day, no one is going to feel sorry for you, especially when you’re a Los Angeles Laker.”

D’Angelo Russell the point guard also shared, “I think we just need to relax and figure out where the root of where we’re going to start trending in the right direction,”

“And I think getting healthy first is one. Two, just playing for one another. I think that’s the first start: having that mentality we’re going to play for each other and just make things easier for each other.”

The Lakers are currently without Anthony Davis, Jaxson Hayes, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt and Jalen Hood-Schifino. The squad is definitely struggling due to the injuries that have riddled their players in such a crucial time.
