“I’ll be looking forward to sharing the field one day with someone that grew up using this glove” MLB MVP Shohei Ohtani donates 60,000 gloves to 20,000 elementary schools in Japan

In current sphere of Major League Baseball, All-MVP of 2021 Shohei Ohtani is one of the top most prospect looming as the agent in the free market.

He is one of the best players currently playing and all the MLB managers are trying to find ways to acquire the phenomenal Japanese superstar. 

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Ohtani announced on Instagram that he will be giving 60,000 youth baseball gloves to around 20,000 elementary schools in his homeland, Japan. 

The baseball heartthrob had also expressed that he desires that kids will follow the amazing game. Through his donations he wills to inspire confidence and love for baseball in Japan. 

In his post he mentioned, “I’m happy to announce that I will be donating approximately 60,000 youth gloves to every elementary school in Japan. That comes out to around 20,000 elementary schools.

I’m hoping the kids can spend their days happily with a lot of energy through baseball.

I’ll be looking forward to sharing the field one day with someone that grew up using this glove!

Lastly, I would like to send my appreciation to everyone that was involved and helped this project come true.”

Ohtani last season with the Angels was incredible as he led the American league in home runs, on-base percentage, and slugging.

His ERA was 3.14 and due to a UCL injury he sustained, Ohtani won’t be able to pitch in 2024. However, he will make his return in 2025.
