The NFL community mourns the untimely passing of retired offensive guard, Matt Ulrich at the age of 41.
However, the cause of death has not been announced yet.
He was a pivotal figure in the Indianapolis Colts’ Super Bowl XLI triumph over the Chicago Bears in 2007.
Beyond his gridiron accomplishments, Ulrich continued to excel in the realms of academia and entrepreneurship.
A three-time Academic All-State in Illinois, he graduated from Streamwood High School in 2000.
Post-NFL, Ulrich co-founded Dexa Fit and served as the director of operations and sports performance at Winning Edge Athletics in Chicago.

Now, Ulrich’s sudden demise at the age of 41 has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones, including his wife, Alison, and their four sons, Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau.
The depth of the loss is poignantly captured in a heart-wrenching love letter posted by Alison on Matt’s Facebook account.
“Our beloved, one of a kind Matt has passed away and is in a better place,” she wrote. “Matt, we love you so so much. You are profoundly missed. We all want you back for just one more day. One more hug. One more kiss. One more laugh. One more joke. One more wrestle with the boys. It seems impossible to do this life without you.”
The broader community has rallied to support the grieving family, with a fundraiser amassing nearly $39,285 in just few hours.
As details about memorial services are pending, Alison expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and requested prayers for peace and comfort for their boys.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Ulrich family and all those whose lives were touched by the remarkable Matthew James Ulrich. May he rest in peace.
