Former Denver Broncos tight end Nate Jackson spilled the beans on an intriguing chapter from the Josh McDaniels era inBroncos in a recent interview with Defector.com, as reported by ML Football in a tweet.

According to Jackson, McDaniels, who served as the Broncos’ head coach from 2009 to 2010, made a controversial personnel decision fueled by off-field tensions.

The move involved the trade of running back Peyton Hillis, and the reason behind it, as per Jackson’s account, was McDaniels’ belief that his own wife harbored attraction towards Hillis.

“McDaniels’ ego wasn’t only fragile on the field. He famously shipped out running back Peyton Hillis because, rumor had it, McDaniels thought his wife was attracted to Hillis,” wrote Jackson in the Defector.com article.

Josh McDaniels is married to Laura McDaniels since the year 2002, and together they have a family of four children.

Additionally, Jackson shared his personal experience of learning about his departure from the Broncos.

He recounted how he discovered the end of his Broncos career through a message left on his parents’ answering machine.

When attempting to seek an explanation from McDaniels, Jackson was met with silence, as the head coach failed to return his calls.

McDaniels, who had a successful stint as the offensive coordinator with the New England Patriots before and after his time in Denver (2009 to 2010), went on to have mixed results as a head coach.

His coaching career included a brief stint with the Las Vegas Raiders from 2022 to 2023, which ended in his dismissal during the second season, mirroring his previous tenure with the Broncos.

Nate Jackson, a former player for the Denver Broncos from 2003 to 2008, was let go by the team in February 2009, coinciding with the arrival of new head coach Josh McDaniels a month prior.

Subsequently, Jackson joined the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2009 season but was released before it began.

He later signed with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL; however, he didn’t participate in any games, as his football journey concluded due to a hamstring injury sustained during training camp.

Peyton Hillis who was previously hitched to Amanda Brown from 2011-2020 and share a son together named Orry is currently dating singer and actress, Angela Cole.
