Artemi Panarin"s impressive performance in the 2023 season has made NHL history, as he now holds the record for the longest point streak to start a season in franchise history.
This achievement is particularly significant considering the rich history of the New York Rangers.
The previous record was set by Rod Gilbert, known as “Mr. Ranger," during the 1972-1973 season.
With an assist on the Rangers' 2nd goal tonight against Columbus, Artemi Panarin now has points in 14 straight games, tying the longest point streak to start in a season in franchise history.

However, Panarin has surpassed that record and now holds the longest point streak at any point in his career.
Panarin"s outstanding performance not only marks the longest point streak at any point in his career but also places him second in the NHL with 24 points in 14 games.
During the game, Panarin played a crucial role with two secondary assists on Alexis Lafreniere"s goals. Lafreniere, too, has been on fire, achieving a point in four consecutive games and scoring goals in back-to-back matches.
When asked about his record-setting achievement, Panarin remained humble and attributed his success to his teammates" hard work and support.
He expressed his happiness for Lafreniere, who has been patiently waiting for his breakthrough, and praised his dedication and improvement since joining the team.
“[It"s] nice to see hard work pay off for Laffy," he continued, " I"m really happy for him, especially after seeing everyone [who] waited for him for the last couple of years. It was a different situation. He"s worked hard since he came here."
Panarin also couldn"t help but make a joking comment about his teammate, Kreids, who surprised him with an excellent pass.

he was originally an undrafted player. He began his professional career in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia before making his NHL debut in 2015.
Panarin"s talent was quickly recognized, and he won the Calder Memorial Trophy in his rookie season as the league"s top rookie.
Since then, he has continued to excel and has become a key player for the Rangers.
