Bills quarterback Josh Allen believes his team has enough offensively to mount a significant end of season run.
The Bills lost 22-24 to the Broncos, with a dramatic last gasp field goal by Denver’s Wim Lutz sealing the deal.
The Buffalo team started as early play off favorites but departed a bright start have lagged sufficiently to give pause on a successful season.
Much of that turmoil is down to Allen and the offense, with the quarterback throwing 11 interception and 14 giveaways, the most in the NFL, while the team’s total giveaways of 18 is the second worst in the league.
When asked after the game if his team had enough in the tank to make a playoff run he said, “I’m still confident but it’s no secret the clock’s ticking, got to have some urgency now.”
Bills head coach Sean McDermott was rightly frustrated and all but blamed the offense for the loss.
“Can’t turn the ball over, period, let alone four times”.
“I think he’s (Allen) played well at times and then at times he hasn’t,” McDermott said. “You can’t turn the ball over, so we’ve got to figure that out.”
The Bills never once took the lead in the disappointing loss, despite pulling level at 15-15 in the third quarter.
The Bills are 5-5 and while second in the AFC East behind the Dolphins and are the number 10 seed in a tough AFC conference.
