“I felt like it was time to move on.” – Patriots HC Bill Belichick parts ways with CB Jack Jones after Colts loss in Germany

The Patriots returned from Germany with an extra loss but one less player on the roster.

New England went down to the Colts in Germany in their week 10 encounter and upon the team’s return it was announced that cornerback Jack Jones had been released from duty.

According to head coach Bill Belichick the player did nothing wrong in Europe.

“I felt like it was time to move on,” Belichick said brusquely.

“Well, Jack’s a talented player,” he said. “He showed that when he played for us at times. In the end, I just felt like we needed to move on, but he’s a talented player.”

Belichick made it clear Jones is not even part of the practice squad, and the fourth round pick of 2022 was an up and coming star.

What could have happened in Germany, or in the squad locker room remains a mystery for now.
