Shohei Ohtani seeks to join a more competitive team this MLB offseason, a contender team as he said earlier, It sucks to lose.
Shohei Ohtani is reportedly “intrigued” by the possibility of playing for the #Braves, per @jonmorosi
Morosi notes Ohtani’s priority is playing for a contender in 2024 and beyond and few (if any) teams are set up to contend long term than the Atlanta Braves. pic.twitter.com/he7AB9vuQp

Even when it is assumed he prefers the West Coast and East Coast teams are in the mix on Ohtani, he will join a team that will win, not on geography.
According to MLB Network insider, Jon Paul Morosi it is a sense that location doesn’t matter as much to the two-way superstar as Ohtani is for winning.
It has been projected by many when Ohtani will be signed as a free agent and his contract will be worth over $500 million, the largest contract possible.
Undoubtedly in the MLB offseason, the most talked-about storyline is on the free agency of the two-way superstar, apparently winning is a factor for him.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi said Monday.
“I think those types of ball clubs that are showing a willingness to compete and contend, whether it’s the Chicago Cubs. I even had someone tell me in the last week or so that Shohei would be very intrigued about playing for the Atlanta Braves. Now, I don’t expect the Braves to sign him, as their priority is upgrading the pitching staff for 2024. But that gives you an idea of where his thought process is.”
Morosi also added that the Los Angeles Dodgers remain the favorites to sign Ohtani, The Dodgers have made 11 straight postseason appearances.
Ohtani had an incredible starting pitcher, going 10-5 in 2023 with a 3.14 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 167 strikeouts in 132 innings across 23 starts.
