Former Chiefs Receiver Devon Wylie Passes Away at 35

Devon Wylie, a former NFL player known for his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, has tragically passed away at the age of 35.

according to multiple reports. The news of his death was confirmed by a family member on social media, as reported by Fresno’s Action News.

As of now, the cause of death has not been disclosed.

Wylie, a promising wide receiver and return man, had a brief yet memorable career in the NFL. He played his college football at Fresno State, where he was a standout player.

The university also confirmed his passing and expressed their condolences.

Born and raised in the Sacramento area, Wylie attended Granite Bay High School before making his way to Fresno State.

In his rookie season with the Chiefs, he showcased his skills by catching six passes and showcasing his abilities as a return specialist for punts and kickoffs. However, his professional career was marked by short stints with various teams.

Following his time with the Chiefs, Wylie briefly played for the Tennessee Titans in 2013. He then had short stops with the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons.

Wylie’s death has left the football community mourning the loss of a talented player.

His journey from a high school standout to a professional football player has left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
