After a disappointing loss to the Cleveland Browns that saw the Baltimore Ravens blow a 14-point fourth-quarter lead, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is still kicking himself about missed opportunities that could’ve helped change the outcome of the game in favor of his team. More specifically, Jackson mentioned his failure to connect on deep passes.
“I mean it’s right there. I’m pissed off about it, to be honest with you,” Jackson stated via the team’s official website. “I watched the game, and it’s like it might be a difference in the game if we connect with that one,” Jackson added regarding a missed deep pass he attempted to rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers in the second quarter of the Week 10 clash.
Per ProFootballTalk’s Josh Alper, Jackson has completed just three of his 13 pass attempts of 20-plus yards since Week 6. Despite the inefficiency, Jackson knows he needs to continue taking deep shots with the expectation that positive regression will come. “Can’t dwell on it. Hopefully this Thursday we catch them when we want them…” Jackson mentioned.
Jackson and the 7-3 Ravens are hosting their divisional rival Cincinnati Bengals on Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football in a game that could swing the pendulum of the divisional race depending on the result.
At 5-5, the Bengals would be just one game back of the Ravens for first place in the AFC North division if they can find a way to win. On the other hand, the Ravens could extend their divisional gap over the Bengals to three games with a win on Thursday night.
