The Cleveland Browns a few days ago defeated the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 31-33. The Browns now stand in the season at 6-3 and on the other hand, the Ravens are 7-3.
Unfortunately for the Browns, they won the game but lost their prominent quarterback, Deshaun Watson. His 2023 NFL season has ended as he sustained two injuries that occurred in the first half of the above-stated match.
On Monday, Watson had an MRI, which revealed his two injuries. He has sustained a left ankle sprain and after the game, Watson also let the team know how he was feeling malaise in his right shoulder. It was later revealed by the MRI that the quarterback had a displaced fracture to the glenoid.

Subsequently, both the head physician of the Browns and the lead shoulder specialist, James Voos MD and Neal ElAttrache MD, have given the heads up that Watson will be requiring the surgery as soon as possible. Hence, he has been put on injured reserve, which concludes his season.
#Browns QB Deshaun Watson wanted to be shot up and play through the injuries, and he sought multiple medical opinions, per sources. But doctors were clear: if he got hit again in the same spot, the shoulder could fall apart. Now surgery awaits and his 2023 season is over. pic.twitter.com/xULu52ZjVg

According to Tom Pelissero, “#Browns QB Deshaun Watson wanted to be shot up and play through the injuries, and he sought multiple medical opinions, per sources. But doctors were clear: if he got hit again in the same spot, the shoulder could fall apart. Now surgery awaits and his 2023 season is over.”
Despite sustaining the injuries, the quarterback still wanted to play, which shows his dedication and love for the game; unfortunately, he couldn’t as he was not given the green sign by the medical staff.
According to Yahoo Sports, Watson, regarding his injuries, mentioned, “I’m still in disbelief,”
“I kind of recognized something was wrong, but during the midst of the game, I was just pushing through whatever I was feeling,”
“And then after the game, and Monday and Tuesday we got testing done and that’s when I found out from the doctors that it was something worse than what we thought it was.”
The quarterback further says, “It’s very tough,”
“But I’m going to make sure I keep my head above water and make sure I stay in touch with all the guys and support them as much as I possibly can and attack this rehab process after surgery and make sure that I’m doing whatever I can to be beneficial for the team while not actually being on the field with them and also prepping for the next year.”
