The Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has reiterated the team’s support of out of form wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
Toney has had an average season at best with 127 yards from 20 receptions, but Reid believes he is still in final recovery after knee injury.
“We’ll just keep coming with him,” Reid said. “I just want to remind everyone that he did have knee surgery, so we’re taking it easy with him up to this point, and just making sure he makes it through the year and in good health.”
The Chiefs are the defending Superbowl champions and will have their credentials severely tested on Tuesday when they take on the best team in the league, The Eagles.
The 7-2 Kansas team take on the 8-1 Eagles in what could be a Superbowl precursor.
But Reid needs all his offensive weapons to be firing in the home stretch of the regular season.
“He played seven plays last week. And so, we can play him more than that and still be OK.” said Reid.
“We’ll just keep an eye on his leg and make sure that we’re repping that out the right way and let him keep progressing as we go here throughout the year. That’s the important part.”
The Chiefs are quietly confident the former Florida Gators player will come good soon.
He signed for the Giants as the 20th overall pick in 2021.
