Titans rookie quarterback, Will Levis, made quite a debut in his team"s 28-23 victory over the Falcons, throwing four touchdowns.
However, the team has faced some setbacks in the two games that followed, with the Titans scoring only 16 points against the Steelers in Week 9, and a mere six points in their recent loss to the Buccaneers.
As Levis gears up for his fourth game as a starter, he acknowledges the responsibility of getting the offense back on track.
"I have to be a leader," Levis said Wednesday, via Jim Wyatt of the team’s website. "My leadership role has to step up. I have to instill confidence in these guys, regardless of who it is, whatever five is out there, that they know I have my full trust in them.
"I have to do a better job as a leader of bringing them along."
especially with some significant changes happening along the offensive line. But what does this look like for him?
According to Levis, being a good leader means leading by example, working hard, doing the right things, and being approachable for questions.
"At the very least, if you want to be a good leader you have to be someone who leads by example and works hard and does the right things and is able to be someone that people can come to and ask questions to," Levis said.
"I feel like in everything that I’ve done, I’ve always wanted to be at the forefront, in the [driver’s] seat. I think I have that innate ability to bring others with me. It’s a tough job to have, but I like having the tough jobs. It’s just kind of how I’m wired, I guess, and I have to keep finding ways to be a better leader."
In the first three games of the season, Levis has completed 56 percent of his passes for 699 yards, throwing four touchdowns and two interceptions.
It remains to be seen if Levis and the Tennessee offense can bounce back and find their rhythm again when they face division-rival Jacksonville this weekend.
