In the game against the Seattle Seahawks, the Los Angeles Rams will have to face a different-looking Seahawks team compared to the one they played against in Week One.

This time, they will have to contend with rookie Devon Witherspoon, who has proven to be a game-changer on defense for Seattle.

Witherspoon, a first-round pick, was unable to play in the previous matchup between the two teams. However, since then, he has showcased his talent and has become a force to be reckoned with.

With impressive stats of 44 tackles, 12 passes defensed, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a 97-yard interception return for a touchdown, it comes as no surprise that Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford recognizes his impact.

Stafford commended Witherspoon, stating that his energy jumps off the tape when watching him play.

Whether he is covering receivers or aggressively making tackles, his presence is felt all over the field.

The quarterback emphasized that Witherspoon is a playmaker, and it is evident in his performances.

“We missed him the first game and he’s a heck of a player,” Stafford said, via a transcript from the team. “His energy jumps off the tape when you watch it, both when he’s covering guys and when he’s running the tackle and hit blitz into the backfield, whatever it is. He’s a playmaker all over the field, so I’m sure they’re happy with what he’s been doing and he jumps off the tape.”

Rams head coach Sean McVay also expressed his relief that they did not have to face Witherspoon in the season opener.

However, he acknowledged the challenge posed by the Seahawks’ rookie and emphasized the need to account for his presence on the field if they aim to secure another victory over their divisional rivals.
