“It’s not that bad,” Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr. says about his shoulder injury

Despite winning their game against the Cincinnati Bengals in impressive fashion on Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football, the Baltimore Ravens are worse for wear. They lost All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews to a season-ending ankle injury and their top wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr., suffered a shoulder injury. After the game, Beckham downplayed the injury.

"It’s not that bad," Beckham told reporters. "We’ll figure it out," he added.

It’s never a good time for injury, but the timing of this injury for Beckham is unfortunate. Not only will he be relied upon more heavily now with Andrews done for the season, but he has begun to turn a corner in recent weeks after a slow start to the season.

Beckham came into last night’s game against the Bengals having scored a touchdown in consecutive games. He recorded a season-high 116 receiving yards in Week 11 en route to helping the Ravens defeat their divisional foes and widen the gap in the AFC North standings.

However, Beckham doesn’t seem too concerned about how the injury may affect him moving forward and is focused on "Just keeping my [his] head down, continuing to work," he said after the game.

This offseason, Beckham signed a one-year contract worth up to $18 million with incentives after he spent the 2022 season as a free agent while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered as a member of the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI. Now, he will be tasked with a larger workload following the unfortunate news surrounding Andrews.
