The Detroit Lions made a great comeback in their game against their North NFC rival Chicago Bears and turned the game around clutching their victory in the end.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff gave up three interceptions, but fortunately for the Lions, the veteran talent Goff still managed in the last quarter and led the Lions squad to their nail-biting victory. The concluding score was 31-26.
According to ESPN, Goff who completed 236 passing yards including two touchdown passes shared, "It"s a lot easier to play bad and win than to play bad and lose,"
"Kind of what we did today, we played not our best ball and not my best ball for about three and a half quarters and we found a way to make it work here at the end."
"It"s the sign of a good team. We"re a resilient group, we"re tough, we have a lot of courage, and we don"t back down from anything."
In the current NFL season, the Lions stand at 8-2 and this is for the first time since 1962. The Lions were 26-14 and only 4:15 remained in the game. The ESPN Analytics via ESPN, gave the Bears 98.2% at winning the game at that point.
Under pressure, Goff remained astute and concentrated on his game and completed two touchdown drives. He further shared, "I get it. They"re upset, I"m upset. They can be upset and boo, that"s alright,"
"But yeah, I think the expectations for our team are higher than they"ve ever been and we want to win home games in front of our home [fans] against division opponents. Today, we ultimately did that. We didn"t get there in a straight line, but we ultimately came out with the W."
The Lions" head coach, Dan Campbell, regarding the victory said, "the pressure went up and our heart rate leveled out … we talked about."
Campbell about Goff’s play shared further, "At the end of the game, down two scores, that"s when he"s at his best in a game where he"s not playing his best game; I think that speaks volumes,"
"Here"s what we know about Goff: At the very least, he"s going to be mentally tough and physically tough, and you can always count on that. You can bank on that."
