Just when you thought the season couldn’t get any more embarrassing for New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, it does. Wilson has been facing scrutiny for his poor play of late and Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced yesterday that the team will be starting veteran backup Tim Boyle in Week 12. Wilson gave people another reason to mock him when he tripped over himself while the Jets offense was running onto the field in the second quarter.

Wilson was seen backpedaling towards the huddle in between drives and the CBS showed the clip during the broadcast, to the surprise of former NFL quarterback and current NFL analyst Boomer Esiason.

Esiason has a morning sports radio talk show on WFAN and used that as an opportunity to discuss what was going through his mind when he saw CBS aired the clip.

"We’re sitting there, and we all see the shot of Zach Wilson falling," Esiason mentioned. As a former NFL quarterback, Esiason was able to relate to Wilson and say that he did the same thing multiple times throughout his career, but it was never aired on television. "I gotta be honest, I think we’ve all done this, believe it or not… I think I probably did it a couple of times," Esiason added.

Esiason went on to ponder whether or not Wilson’s current situation with the Jets played a role in the decision to show the clip.

"But under the current set of circumstances and under what’s going on with the Jets and what’s going on with Zach [Wilson], we were all wondering, are they going to show that?"
