After snapping a 16-season playoff drought last season, the Sacramento Kings are coming into this season looking to build on the momentum they established. Through the first 13 games of the 2023-24 season, they find themselves with an 8-5 record and fifth in the Western Conference. The Athletic’s NBA insider Shams Charania suggests the Kings could be active on the trade market to bolster their roster as they look to prove last year wasn’t a fluke.

“They’re going to be involved in every star player. Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, maybe Zach LaVine,” Charania said.

The Kings are seemingly searching for a third star player to pair with their talented duo of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, both of whom represented the Kings in the NBA All-Star Game last season.

Charania listed Siakam and Anunoby, both of whom are members of the Toronto Raptors and expected to hit free agency this offseason. If the Raptors don’t want to sign either or both players to contract extensions, it would be in their best interest to explore trade offers for these two highly sought-after players and maximize their assets.

Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Zach LaVine has also been involved in rumors. His name is heating up in the trade market since the Bulls have a 5-10 record through 15 games. Frustrations are beginning to mount in Chicago which could lead to a change of scenery for LaVine.

Reports have indicated that LaVine and the Bulls are both open to the idea of parting ways with one another, which only adds fuel to the fire.
