When it comes to the biggest headline for Baseball’s offseason it is superstar Shohei Ohtani deciding to go in free agency.

A list of l teams are interested and are in pursuit of the two-time American League MVP with every resource available. He could potentially fetch a $500 million contract on the open market.

In this off season saga, The Texas Rangers, who are the reigning World Series champions, has quite the sales pitch to any free agent including Shohei Ohtani.

On Monday, Rangers pitcher Max Scherzer was invited as a guest on the daily digital show Foul Territory and gave his recruiting pitch for Ohtani to sign with Texas

Scherzer said during an appearance on Foul Territory TV when asked to make a pitch on the Rangers’ behalf for Ohtani,

“Money’s great, but winning’s better. If you want to come win, that’s better than money. I promise.”

Scherzer came to the Rangers last season via trade from the New York Mets, in a move that certainly worked out well for the veteran pitcher.

The Texas Rangers just came out from winning their first-ever World Series, and are looking to capitalize and ensure their long-term success.

If the Rangers were to sign Ohtani, Texas’ lineup would become a menace for every other team in the league.

Ohtani on the other hand is a generational talent who is coming off an MVP season, and signing with the Rangers and his presence in the lineup would make them unbeatable.

As the 2024 season starts, Texas has the fifth-highest payroll in MLB at almost $188 million.
