NFL star Travis Kelce made a bit of a splash in a recent Wall Street Journal profile. The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end did not pull any punches when discussing Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
In a frank confession, Kelce made some pointed comments about Rodgers’ interview tendencies.
The rapport between Kelce and Rodgers had been seemingly cordial until the fires were fanned over Kelce’s part in a Pfizer commercial.

Although the banter settled down, Kelce couldn’t help but stir the pot while speaking with the Wall Street Journal.
Kelce stated, “Aaron’s always been cool to me. I knew he was trying to have some fun. He’s in a situation where Tuesdays are his game days…. So I get it, man, I’ve been injured too…. Who knows what the guy is going through?”

Arising out of a joint understanding of being injured sportsmen, Kelce addressed Rodgers’ weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee Show. These happen every Tuesday, akin to game days for Rodgers who suffered an Achilles tear in Week One.
Rodgers has been optimistic about a Week 16 return. He has been candid about his recovery on PMS while expressing opinions on the widespread COVID-19 pandemic.
Aaron Rodgers has not played a single NFL game since the New York Jets’ season opener’s first drive. This has been unfortunate for both Rodgers and the NFL fans, marking an upset phase of his career.
Rodgers sustained an Achilles injury that has kept him off the field, a painful ordeal for any sportsman, let alone one of Rodgers’ stature. Kelce’s subtle jab might have hit hard, considering Rodgers’ desire to be playing again.
For an athlete, there is no worse situation than being unable to participate in the sport you love. Indeed, a potent reminder of their helplessness can be a shot below the belt.
This might have been the result of Kelce’s recent comment on Rodgers. While the initial jokes and banters seemed all fun and games, this comment could have struck a chord with Rodgers and his fans.
