“I’m not going to change. I will not” Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel Embraces ‘Hard Knocks’ Distraction, Vows Authenticity

The head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel, is recognized for many things, including his potent abilities to take the Dolphins to where they are today.

His players trust him and hence, under his tutelage, the Dolphins are expanding, reaching greater heights individually and as a team as well. His personality and persona are major reasons why the fans adore him.

The head coach has recently expressed his opinions regarding HBO’s “Hard Knocks” which had its first episode on Tuesday. He told his players straightforwardly that no change would be there, as their every move would be accessible. The audiences will be given exclusive behind-the-scenes as the Dolphins move in the remaining season.

The Miami Dolphins are coming off their bye and McDaniel was seen in his endeavours to make sure the team and himself are not distracted. His efforts were clear in making his players understand what would be coming and how they would navigate such changes.

As per Fox News, during the team meeting, McDaniel shared, “Hard Knocks’ starts today, and I’m actually convinced I’m fired up about it,”

“It’s a heavy burden on a lot of people. Big paychecks in this room, it’s a burden on you. The players that are recognized around the league, it’s a burden on a day-to-day basis. But I refuse to do this job and not give you guys my authentic self.”

“I’m not going to change. I will not. We work too hard, and this is part of our journey. We’re going to have people document this whole season. Awesome. I’m not f—-ing changing, nor do you guys have to. So s—‘s going to get weird. Who cares? It is a distraction if we let it. I refuse to have our journey tainted by that s—.”

The current NFL season has seen impressive performances given by the Dolphins. They are pushing their plays in defense and collecting wins with aplomb. However, they lost their game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt, Germany.

They have recently defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 20-13 and are preparing to give their all when they face the New York Jets. The Dolphins have also acquired the top position in their division, AFC East, and stand in the season with 7-3.

McDaniel further shared, “I’m excited for what needs to be told about this team,”

“The journey that we’ve taken together since the first day, April 17, of this season. I’m excited the world’s going to find out what we’ve built together each and every day. I f—ing love where our team’s at, I love how we’ve gotten there. I love the scars of those losses that builds what we’re trying to build on of being our very best selves at the end of this year.”

“We’ve been together 127 days, 78 practices, that you’ve been eye blacked up for 12 games,”

“This team only has 47 days, 24 practices and eight games guaranteed to us. Shame on you if you don’t bring it any time we’re out there together. This s— is sacred as f—, guys. That was the journey and we haven’t even gotten to the best part yet. The best part is f—ing today.”

The head coach, McDaniel, and the Dolphins are certainly hoping to make big this season. However, the coach and the players try to assimilate how to steer clear of possible distractions.
