Titans quarterback Will Levis made am hilarious apology after his grammatical error in the team’s press conference following their 17-10 win over the Panthers.
Levis took to social media with a witty reminder that we all should listen a bit closer in English class.
“Been killing me. I apologize to all my former English teachers,” he tweeted.
What did he say that caused the social media buzz?
Turns out he said capitulate instead of matriculate, defined as advancing forward, instead of giving up.
Levis helped his team to an uninspiring win over a lacklustre Panthers outfit, which today sacked its head coach Frank Reich.
He threw for less than 200 yards for his third straight game, as the Titans snapped a three-game losing streak.
He threw no interceptions, and also no touchdowns, so he can be excused for showing zero memory for the word matriculate.
He will get a chance to flex his arm and his linguistic ability when the side take on the Colts in week 13.
