For the past few seasons, the National Football League"s New York Giants have found themselves navigating through some challenging circumstances as it relates to their quarterback position.
Central to these challenges has been Daniel Jones, the team"s starting quarterback, his health status, and future with the Giants.
Lately, speculations and questions surrounding the quarterback spot have swelled, largely attributed to Jones"s recent injuries and the team"s sluggish start in the 2023 season with a 2-9 record.
Among these uncertain times, Giants" new General Manager Joe Schoen has offered some clarity during his latest press conference. Schoen expressed that Daniel Jones, who inked a four-year deal with the Giants just this offseason, remains the Giants" preferred choice at the quarterback"s position.
This confirmation marked “the expectation moving forward," dispelling rumors of a possible replacement. Head Coach Brian Daboll shared similar sentiments, placing great faith in Jones.
While the Giants have solidified their faith in Jones as their primary quarterback, Schoen also dropped hints that the team might “have to do something" in the 2024 season.
"We don’t have a crystal ball in terms of how the rehab is going to go," Schoen said, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. "I think we’re going to have to do something in the quarterback [room], whether it’s free agency or the draft. We don’t know when [Jones] is going to be ready. We’ll have to address [quarterback] at some point."

Interestingly, following Jones"s absence, the Giants have been on a roll, amassing two consecutive wins.
Not only has this sudden turnaround dulled the quarterback chatter around the team, but it has also shoved the Giants away from the top of the draft.
