“I’m sure, great matchups down the road” Trevor Lawrence Reflects on Jaguars’ Triumph and Eyes Future Divisional Battles Against Rising Texans

The Jacksonville Jaguars recently defeated the Houston Texans and the score after the fourth quarter was 21-24. The Jaguars stand in the season with 8-3 and are leading their division, AFC South.

In the last throes of the nail-biting game, Matt Ammendola’s 58-yard field goal was not completed and for now, the Jaguars were able to finish their game with a victory.

However, the Jaguars are wary of what they see in the Houston Texans with rookie C.J. Stroud at the helm. Once again, the Texans quarterback has shown impressive play against the Jaguars.

Trevor Lawrence is leading the charge of the Jaguars and is among the top quarterbacks in his division, as his place has been solidified more with this win and the squad’s rankings.

According to NFL via Jacksonville Jaguars, the quarterback regarding the game and future of the division shared, “I want teams in our division to be as bad as possible,”

“That’s how I see it. The way they’re playing, it’s exciting, yes. There’s gonna be some, I’m sure, great matchups down the road. And C.J. is playing lights out. He’s doing a great job.”

“To be a rookie and to play how he is, I’ve got a lot of respect for him. I know how hard it is. I’ve been in that position. He’s doing a great job and it’s going to be fun for years to come, hopefully. But no, I wouldn’t prefer that. I’d prefer if the guys in our division didn’t have good quarterbacks. It would be better for us.”

The CFP national champion of 2018, quarterback Trevor Lawrence, has also reflected on further competition between the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He had positive words for the rising rookie C.J. Stroud, who is already soaring high with impressive performances. Lawrence also shared, amusingly, that it would present better chances for the Jaguars if their opponents were lacking.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will next face the Cincinnati Bengals and then the Cleveland Browns. After the Browns, they will headlock with the Baltimore Ravens.
