The Panthers are not as poor as the results have shown, says head coach Frank Reich after their 17-10 loss to the Titans.
Many observers, including team owner David Tepper may thing otherwise with the head honcho using a four-letter expletive to describe the loss.
The team are now 1-10, the worst record in the league.
Even the Arizona Cardinals have double the wins, and they are abysmal.
“What are you going to do? You’re 1-10. What, are you going to start feeling sorry for yourself? You’re going to think something will magically fix everything? No,” Reich said in his press conference, via Alex Zietlow of the Charlotte Observer.
Last season’s number one overall draft pick Bryce Young has not shown much promise playing behind a subdued offensive line and has not thrown for more than 200 yards in a game all season.
He did throw a game high 194 yards going 18-31, but that is not good enough to beat the 4-7 Titans.
“We lost a close football game today.
“These games are winnable. That message doesn’t fly when you’re 1-10, but I know these games are winnable. I know we have the players and the coaches to do that.
“So we regroup, and we get ready for this week,” he added, over enthusiastically given the team’s season.
After the game, in the locker room Teper was heard saying, “f**k, showing passion, frustration, anger and embarrassment all encapsulated in one word.
Would firing Reich change anything? Probably not.
And who would want to come to Carolina and be part of one of the worst seasons in history.
