“This is probably the best thing to happen to Frank Reich, because now he’s going to have the guaranteed money to go away,” said Ryan as the story broke.
Reich has been on the chopping block since Sunday’s loss to the Titans, taking them to a 1-10 season.
“I met with Coach Reich this morning and informed him that he will not continue as head coach of the Carolina Panthers,” Tepper said in a statement. “I want to thank Frank for his dedication and service, and we wish him well.”
Special teams coach has been appointed to the head role on an interim basis.
