As reported The New England Patriots are headed to landing a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, have started the process of scouting a particular elite quarterback.
The Patriots have been rebuilding since Tom Brady left, and this will likely begin this offseason as Bill Belichick’s term also will end in his 24th season.
The revamp team will be in search of a new coach, owner bert Kraft has been on record saying about Jerod Mayo,
“Definitely a strong candidate to be the heir apparent.”
As projected without a quarterback, it will not matter who the Patriots hire. The Patriots are currently sitting third in the NFL Draft order.
They also have two high-quality quarterbacks on the market, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye.
Per the updates, an NFL executive told ESPN’s Courtney Cronin that the decision shouldn’t be tough at all. This is because USC star and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams has the skills to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL as soon as he enters the league.
The Patriots who are currently sitting third in the NFL Draft order are reportedly scouting QB prospects as chance of top 2 pick increases after Week 12.
In the projection of 2024 No. 1 NFL Draft pick, Caleb Williams, has declared that he wants partial ownership of the team that selects him, if he is for next year’s selection process.
The 21-year-old USC Trojans quarterback has now thrown 2,021 yards on the season and has 23 touchdown passes against four interceptions in six games.
Earlier Williams said,
“I’ve always been able to choose the team that I’ve played on. But now, going into this next part of my career, it’s weird cause it’s so uncertain. You don’t know anything. You can’t control anything but you and how you act. That’s honestly the weirdest part for me, is the uncertainty.”
