Patrick Kane has signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings according to reliable sources.
Kane, fresh off hip surgery opted to join Detroit ahead of a clutch of teams, with the former Chicago Blackhawks opting for the Red Wings after meeting coach Derek Lalonde.
Kane was last on the books of the Rangers before the injury, but the free agent has made up his mind.
In an illustrious career the future Hall of Famer has scored 451 goals and 786 assists.
After being selected as the number one draft pick by the Blackhawks in 2007, the right wing has been immense.
The 35-year-old has won three Stanley Cups for the Blackhawks, in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
