San Antonio Spurs center Zach Collins is known to be a lob passer but it seems when it comes to finding rookie Victor Wembanyama, though, it is a work in progress.
Zach Collins on those lobs to Wemby: "I told him I’m working on it. It’s funny, after one (unspecified) game, I was like, ‘Damn bro, I’m just not used to throwing it that high. Usually if I throw it that high it’s a bad pass.’ And he told me, ‘No one’s thrown it too high yet.’"

The Spurs’ resilience is evidently navigating the pressures of being a must-watch NBA team. The players are also embracing the increasing spotlight, banding together to improve and adapt.
On Monday Collins told the media,
“I told him I’m working on it. It’s funny, after one game, I was like, ‘Damn bro, I’m just not used to throwing it that high. Usually if I throw it that high it’s a bad pass. And he told me, ‘No one’s thrown it too high yet."
Collins is in his third year with Spurs and averages 3.8 assists in just over 29 minutes per game. He is a big man throwing lobs to his fellow big man Wemby, the reigning No. 1 overall pick, a unique element that brings to the Spurs" offense.
Collins also have said on The Hoop Chat with Emily Austin,
“There"s been a lot more noise than we"re used to," the Spurs. Even my first year playing with the Spurs we had big names on the team. Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker … we had guys that were pretty well known. The media was there, but it was also San Antonio. It"s not L.A. or New York."
Apparently Wembanyama is also heading the team mindset during the team"s annual media day, he said,
"My teammates] know I don"t care about [the media attention]. I"m here to make sacrifices for them, and I think they"re going to make sacrifices for me … at the end of the day, we"re at practice and I"m like, What can we do today to make this team better?"
This season, for San Antonio it has not gone as planned; they have only come out victorious in one home game this season but more is yet to be seen.
