Shannon Sharpe, known for his distinctive personality in the podcast world, took it up a notch on Tuesday by revealing his “obsession” with oral hygiene. He confessed to brushing his teeth up to 10 times a day and regularly using Listerine tablets to maintain a fresh smell and taste throughout his busy schedule.
During Monday’s Nightcap with Chad Johnson, Sharpe explained, “I’ve always said if I ever were to come into some money, I’m going to get my teeth fixed. I ain’t gonna have no rotting teeth, I ain’t gonna have no teeth missing.” Consequently, Sharpe outlined his meticulous brushing routine:
- Once upon waking up
- After breakfast, before leaving the house
- In the restroom at ESPN studios before First Take begins
- After eating lunch
- After his afternoon nap
- After dinner
- Before bed

“That’s enough goddamn brushing,” Johnson jokingly retorted. Sharpe admitted to going through a tube of toothpaste weekly and changing toothbrushes every two weeks.
Despite reassurances from others that he’s fine, Sharpe considers his oral hygiene an obsession. He fears criticism of his hygiene or scent, acknowledging his apprehension about someone pointing out if his breath smells bad. In the past, Sharpe revealed his reluctance to do certain private activities in front of women, emphasizing his concern for being roasted for any perceived hygiene issues.
