“It is what it is, man.” – Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes wants to move on from poor officiating calls in loss to Packers

Another week another round of refereeing bashing as disputed calls wreck the Chiefs, in 27-19 loss to the Packers.

Green Bay is still in the playoff hunt, but only just while the 8-4 Chiefs should have a chance to defend their Superbowl title.

But the game was marred by a host of calls, or unmade calls with the officials not flagging an incident of interference by Packers DB Carrington Valentine on wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes admitted he thought the contact was too early but, in the end, conceded the team needs to get out there and win the game and not leave it in the hands of the officials.

“It is what it is, man. Obviously the guy was probably a little early, but at the end of the game they’re letting guys play,” Mahomes said philosophically at the postgame press conference.

“I’m kind of about that. I’d rather you let the guys play and let the guys win it on the field. It’s a hard job, man. When we’re in that situation, I can’t be wanting a flag. I have to try to go out there and win the game myself and with the rest of my teammates.”

The Chiefs defense allowed the Packers three touchdowns in their first four drives and despite wonky officiating have only themselves to blame.

Packers QB Jordan outplayed Mahomes going for an impressive 25 from 36 including three touchdowns and 267 yards.

The Chiefs take on the inconsistent Bills while Green Bay have a chance to get a winning season with a match up against the Giants.
