Dan Orlovsky, ESPN’s “Get Up” analyst, has voiced his opinion regarding the College Football Playoff Selection Committee’s decision to leave the undefeated 13-0 ACC Champion, Florida State Seminoles and is facing the ire of the fans.
Recently, Booger McFarland and Dan Mullen have expressed their dissent to the CFP Selection Committee’s decision to pick up the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Florida State Seminoles while considering the 2023 College Playoff.
According to Awful Announcing, this is the first time a team that is the Power Five conference champion and has been undefeated until now has not been able to make the Playoff list.
The situation of Florida State not making further progress has received criticism and is now a contentious topic garnering attention. However, Orlovsky’s statements have come as a shock to Seminoles supporters.
"We have to stop saying that THIS Florida State team went undefeated as a Power Five conference champion. This team did not. The team two weeks ago — with Jordan Travis — did. This is a different football team." – Dan Orlovsky.

The CFP Selection Committee ducked points from the Florida State Seminoles as their starting quarterback, Jordan Travis, suffered a season-ending leg injury. Subsequently, the team was not what it was before his injury. Unfortunately, their winning streak was not a major factor for the CFP Selection Committee to consider in their further evaluation.
Their second quarterback, Tate Rodemaker, also suffered an injury and their third quarterback was Brock Glenn. While having injuries, the FSU still managed to defeat the Louisville Cardinals 16-6 and cliched the ACC Championship. The injury to their quarterback made an impact on their 2023 College Playoff progress, which was further halted.
However, many supporters criticised the remarks of ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky.
Hi @danorlovsky7. FSU went 2-0 without Jordan Travis.
It would probably be beneficial to be accurate in what you share with your national platform moving forward. Maybe even a retraction or clarification would be the right thing to do professionally? https://t.co/R2mEfmJOuI

These guys got to get out and get some fresh air and clear their heads. Throw the football around. Get out of suit and tie.
Stuck in ESPN bubble, in this insulated echo chamber, has turn some of these individuals into blathering _____. https://t.co/tJS4iP9OMB

Thing is, FSU *was* undefeated (2-0) and a Power 5 conference champion *without* Jordan Travis, @danorlovsky7. Sure, they weren’t 13-0 w/o Travis. But they were undefeated & won their conference, beating a top 15 team to do it. https://t.co/JRJQiSTuQb

Sorry for those other comments to your family.
For me, I am afraid I found your opinion belittling to the FSU players. It is so wrong that they were kept out of the playoffs. This isn’t a participation trophy for the SEC, it should be a wake up call!

It still says Florida State on the helmet so, yes, this team went unbeaten. There is precedent for a team losing their starting quarterback and still making the playoffs (Ohio State). ESPN did this and they have their stooges like Orlovsky out there to defend the indefensible.

The No. 5 Florida State Seminoles will next face the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl on December 30th.
