“I want to see them have success.” – FOX commentator Greg Olsen throws his name into Panthers HC position

FOX football analyst Greg Olsen is unsurprisingly interested in the head coaching position at the Panthers, should he make the grade.

Olsen is part of the FOX number 1 analysis team and makes around $10 million a year, but from next season will be dropped to the number 2 slot, which lays $3 million.

Also, there is the prestige and challenge of coaching at the highest level, especially with Panthers having recently sacked Frank Reich.

When asked if he would be keen to join the dugout he said, "Who wouldn’t [be]?"

"Obviously, this is a city that I love, this is a team that I played the bulk of my career for.

"I live here, my kids are here, we want to see the Carolina Panthers return to the level we were able to have a good five-six year run where we were one of the better stories in the NFL …"

Olsen, a former NFL tight end, spent 9 playing years at the Panthers, from 2011 to 2019, and knows what makes the Carolina team tick.

He retired from playing in January 2021, after a stint at the Seahawks and has been a color commentator at FOX ever since then.

"I love doing what I’m doing right now,’’ Olsen said. "How this future unfolds, [there are] a lot of moving parts [and] a lot of this is out of any of our control."

Olsen was the 31st overall pick in 2007 joining the Bears.
