“I was going to be a jerk today …” – Bengals WD Ja’Marr Chase admits to show boating in 34-31 win over the Jaguars

Cincinnati wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase admitted to being inspired to be disrespectful in his team’s stunning 34-31 win over the Jaguars on Monday night.

The win keeps the Bengals in the playoff hunt, going to 6-6 and Chase was influential, together with quarterback Jake Browning.

Chase started his 76-yard touchdown run before crossing the N-zone, looking at the Jaguars defenders before he scored.

“I said I was gonna do some asshole shit — excuse my profanity,” Chase said. “I was going to be a jerk today. . . . I just felt like being an evil person today.”

Browning was on form and found Chase with will, and the quarterback had this to say of the celebration, “I saw him turning around near the goal line, and I was thinking, ‘Why is he turning around?’ He said it was because he was being disrespectful,” Browning said.

Chase caught 11 from 12 passes as Browning went 32 from 37 passes.

Despite losing Burrow to a wrist injury Chase was happy with the style of play, saying, “We still can play Cincinnati football.

“We showed that today.”
