NFL analyst Ryan Clark took a bash at college football news, particularly regarding the rumor regarding Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord.
Clark suggested the reason McCord is leaving the Buckeyes is that they will take Washington State’s Cameron Ward.
McCord confirmed on social media that he has entered his name in the transfer portal.
“I’m extremely thankful for my time at Ohio State,” McCord wrote. “Playing in the scarlet and grey was truly an honor.”
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said, “Kyle got better as the season went on.”
“(He) had a little bit of those ankle injuries that he worked through; he showed toughness there. Certainly the Notre Dame game, he played really well down the stretch. So I think there was growth there, for sure, and I think he’s a good quarterback, I do.
“After every year, you evaluate everything and try to figure out what to do next, but I think there was a lot of progress made this year.”
ESPN’S Clark said on a deleted X post that Ohio had transferred or was in the process of transferring Ward.
Ohio went 11-1 with McCord starting all the games.
