The running back suffered his ankle injury in the first quarter of the game. Stevenson had the ball, was running, and was later tackled, due to which he got injured. After the tackle took him down, several players also landed on Stevenson during the play.
After sustaining the injury, Stevenson was taken from the field by the medical staff. He exited the pitch and went straight to the locker room. The running back was primarily stated as “questionable” and then later ruled out and did not return to the game.
Stevenson’s ankle X-rays showed detrimental results and an MRI is also scheduled to possibly assess the injury further. The primary carrier for the Patriots will now be Ezekiel Elliott.
According to Pro Football Talk, Elliott, through his twelve games, has registered 112 carries for 429 yards, including two touchdowns. For 154 yards, he has also posted twenty-four catches.
However, Stevenson is the lead rusher for the Patriots, having 619 yards and having recorded the most receiving as well, with thirty-eight catches.
