Texans’ Rookie Quarterback C.J. Stroud Poised to Make NFL History, Closing in on Rookie Passing Yards Record

C.J. Stroud, the rookie quarterback of the Houston Texans, is on his way to making rookie NFL history. Through his twelve games, he has posted  3,540 passing yards and is leading with that highly impressive number for someone who has just begun his NFL journey.

According to Pro Football Talk, Stroud is moving towards crossing the 5,000 mark in passing yards. He may be reaching the pace of posting 5,015 yards. The earlier record was made by Andrew Luck, who recorded 4,374 yards in 2012.

Luck had achieved the prominent record in a total of 16 games and as per Pro Football Talk, Stroud might be able to surpass the record in his fifteenth game of the current NFL season.

Till now, the rookie quarterback has achieved twenty touchdown passes and is making his way to throw twenty-eight this season. If he reaches that point, he will be the second person to achieve this feat.

The highest record for touchdown passes was set by Justin Herbert in 2020, when he recorded thirty-one TD passes. The twice Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year, Stroud, has a passer rating of 101.2 and is taking the third spot among the top-best rookies in the NFL. He is currently behind Dak Prescott and Robert Griffin III.

The stride of Houston Texans has been changed completely by the addition of two-time Griese–Brees Quarterback of the Year awardee C.J. Stroud. He was also awarded the Thompson–Randle El Freshman of the Year of 2021. The Houston Texans will now face the New York Jets in their next game.
