New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson"s wife, Chanen Johnson, took to TikTok to share the harrowing experience of witnessing her husband"s injury during a recent away game.
In a video posted on the her TikTok account, where Chanen poured out her feelings as she grappled with the fear of seeing her husband laid out on the field.
"It has been a wild 30 minutes. I think one of the worst experiences you can have as an NFL wife is literally watching your man slayed down on the field. Oh my gosh, that literally just broke me," said Chanen in the video, where she was crying while narrating the traumatic incident.
Expressing her frustration and anxiety, Chanen questioned why her husband was the one on the ground, unable to get up, emphasizing the emotional toll that such moments take on the loved ones of NFL players.
She went on to share a bit of advice, reflecting on the importance of attending away games as a preventive measure.
"This is what happens when you don’t go to away games," Chanen lamented.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding Juwan"s condition, Chanen described the nerve-wracking experience of refreshing social media platforms in an attempt to glean any information about her husband"s well-being.
"He goes into a [medical] tent, right," she explained. "I’m over here refreshing Twitter (now X), which I do not go on Twitter during games. Every [NFL] wife knows, don’t go on Twitter during a football game. People that don’t know football really try and bring you down. I’m refreshing Twitter to find out what the heck is going on."
Relief washed over Chanen as she discovered that Juwan was on the sidelines and seemingly okay, though she acknowledged the inherent risks of the game and the need for thorough medical evaluations.
"Thankfully I found out that he was sitting on the sidelines, which I mean, cool," she shared. "… I think they checked him for a concussion."
Despite the momentary relief, Chanen couldn"t shake off the emotional toll that such incidents take on her.
"Literally I sat there and I was like, wow I would be fine if he retired tomorrow," she revealed. "I really hate this feeling so much. … From what I know he’s OK. Football gives me wrinkles so the NFL should be covering the cost of my botox at this point."
