The fallout from the controversial omission of unbeaten Florida from the College playoffs is reaching fever pitch with Florida Governor Ron de Santis getting involved.
The NCAA Football has snubbed Florida and chose the 10-1 Alabama Crimson Tide instead of the 11-0 Florida side.
“We are going to set aside $1 million and let the chips fall where they may,” DeSantis said at a news conference, via ABC News.”
He is not the only politician invested in the decision with a bunch of them raising the case for a civil lawsuit against the College Football Selection Committee.
Florida State senate Corey Simon, a former NFL and Seminoles star added his clout to the mix.
“The corruption of college football rears its ugly head again,” Simon tweeted Sunday. “ESPN and Disney have a vested interest in the SEC participating in the CFP. Lawsuits should be filed tomorrow.”
At the moment it seems a storm in a teacup, but we know how big the storms get in Florida.
With DeSantis in cost cutting mode and is on the back of another unrelated lawsuit with Disney, earlier in the year.
Florida Football are not happy, but it seems there is little they can do to stop the CFP legal action, especially aimed at broadcaster ESPN and Disney.
