Chris Godwin, the wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been with the squad since 2017, when he was picked up in the NFL Draft as the third round’s 84th pick.
With the squad, the wide receiver has also won the esteemed Super Bowl title. Godwin has played each game of this current season; however, his wife has reportedly taken to social media to express concern regarding Godwin’s lack of opportunities.

According to Pro Football Talk via JoeBucsFan.com, Godwin’s wife replied to the statement regarding the wide receiver and why he was targeted less.
Scott Smith stated, “Todd Bowles said the Bucs subbed Chris Godwin out more than usual on Sunday because he’s more banged up than most.”
“That contributed to his lack of receptions on the day, but his touchdown run was huge.”
To which Mariah Godwin replied, “I’m not sure why we are just blatantly lying here. regardless of how banged up Chris is, he continues to work his ass off, hasn’t missed a game, continues to run great routes & get open.”
“I don’t know why things are the way they are, this isn’t my team to coach. But this lying on Chris and implying negativity on his work ethic is infuriating. Let’s not act like he had to be subbed out so much more than usual when in fact he’s been playing just the same.”
The wide receiver had signed a three-year contract extension worth $60 million last year. The Buccaneers have the option of concluding his contract before the next year begins. As per PFT, the squad could also hire a new face in the position of head coach.
In this NFL season, the talented wide receiver has played twelve games and has posted 53 catches, 606 yards, and one touchdown. For the next game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Atlanta Falcons.
