Hayden Hurst, a significant contributor to the Panthers’ tight end team, is on a determined journey towards recovery hoping to return this season.

He has been sidelined by a concussion since November 9, and his father recently disclosed the extent of the challenge Hurst is bravely facing – post-traumatic amnesia.

Hurst sustained the head injury during a match against the Bears that has left him with a concussion and post-traumatic amnesia.

The severity of the situation is illustrated by Hurst’s revelation of a scary four-hour period post-injury, he does not recall.

Hurst shared on X that he was indeed in a ‘scary situation’. A brutal hit during the game led to an immediate concussion that triggered a four-hour amnesia episode.

While it was scary, it is NOT career ending,” Hurst wrote. “I’m starting my return to play this week, so fingers crossed I make it back for the last few weeks! God Bless & Keep Pounding!!!!

Despite the crippling setback, Hurst’s resolve remains unbroken. His father confirmed that although the precise timeline remains uncertain, Hurst is looking towards reclaiming his role on the team before the end of this season.

Both Hurst and his father haven’t provided a firm date for Hurst’s comeback. However, the tight end has his hopes pinned on a return before the season concludes.

Before being sidelined by the concussion, Hurst had 18 receptions for 184 yards, including a spectacular touchdown, contributing significantly to Panthers’ performance in nine games.
