Jake Ferguson"s touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter turned the tide, and the Seahawks couldn"t recover, losing 41-35.
Next, SNY reporter Conner Hughes reposted a video of the play on X, showing Adams allowing the go-ahead touchdown pass in the Seattle Seahawks" loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Alongside, Conner wrote, “Yikes" throwing some serious shade.
Jamal Adams didn"t take it well and responded by posting a picture of Hughes" wife with a “Yikes" comment.
Shots were fired!
On Wednesday, when asked about it, Jamal Adams didn"t mince words.
He dismissed the notion that he went too far, asserting:
“Oh, it"s always the athlete crossed the line when he responds."
In his defense, Adams claimed it was all about putting an end to the incessant criticism, stating:
“At the end of the day, disrespect is disrespect. However, you want to take it. So I responded. I knew when I did hit that tweet, I wasn"t in it to win it. At the end of the day, it was to get him to understand to leave me the hell alone."
But this beef runs deeper than a single play gone wrong.
Adams revealed a history of bad blood with Hughes, admitting:
“He"s been going on saying a couple of things since the trade, and obviously it"s been happening before that, and I just got fed up with it. It"s been personal with him and me ever since I"ve been with the Jets.
While Adams regretted bringing Hughes" wife into the feud, he insisted, “I hate that I had to bring her into the situation, but at the end of the day, the ultimate goal was to get at him."
According to Adams, his agenda was to silence his critics, saying:
“My ultimate goal was to get [him] to not respond to me anymore. That was the key, and that"s what I hope it is."
Not stopping there, Adams expanded his grievances to another New York reporter who had labeled him a bad person.
“He"s another one," Adams declared, making it clear he"s not one to let insults slide. “When others go low, I went lower."
Now, turns out, Jamal Adams has liked a “Why has the NFL gotten So SOFT!!!" tweet by a user named Justin Tick.
This move could be interpreted as Adams" nod to those critics who believe that the NFL football safety"s response to the shade he received from the SNY reporter was unacceptable.
Jamal Adams" seven NFL seasons are split between the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets.
Delving into his overall career stats, Adams has accumulated 359 solo tackles, 131 assists, 4 fumble recoveries, 4 interceptions, 209 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 5 interceptions, and 2 sacks.
Jamal Adams" football journey began at LSU, where he was one of the top defensive backs in the school"s history.
