Who is Brenden Rice? All you need to know about son of Jerry Rice declaring for NFL Draft

On Friday USC wide receiver Brenden Rice, the son of Hall of Fame NFL receiver Jerry Rice, was declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

The announcement came following his standout final season at USC, will look to join the pros this spring after declaring for the 2024 NFL draft.

Rice logged a career-high 45 catches, 791 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2023 regular season.

He spent the past two seasons with the Trojans and announced his decision in a farewell message to USC on X.

He wrote,

“Trojan Family. Thank you for taking me in and making me feel at home. Through the good and bad, being a Trojan means to persevere and fight the f— on!”

Son of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, Brenden at 6 ‘4” and 210 pounds and followed in his father’s footsteps at the next level following a strong end to his collegiate career.

Brendan began his college career in 2020 as a member of the Colorado Buffaloes, he spent two seasons and accounted for 419 yards and five touchdowns.

He joined USC ahead of the 2022 season and has 1,402 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns in two seasons with the Trojans.

In his four-year NCAA career between Colorado and USC, Rice has 1,812 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns.

Now as he stepped down in his father’s footsteps he will pursue a decorated NFL career. His father Jerry won three Super Bowl championships all with the San Francisco 49ers.

Rice’s announcement comes just days after he was invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Alabama, even though it’s unclear if he’ll take the field on Feb. 3.
